Why celebrate Lughnasadh?

Mid-summer is known as Lughnasadh (pronounced LOO-nah-sah) in the Celtic wheel of the year and celebrates the first harvest. A cross quarter day halfway between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox, also known in the Christian calendar as Lammas, a feast of grain.

Lughnasadh means the festival of the sun god. It’s time to begin reaping the bounty of the growing season which will carry on for the next several months. The summer fields are full with ripe fruits, nourishing grains, and hearty vegetables. And we are invited to celebrate the abundance with feasting and gratitude.

What has ripened within you?

Where might you receive abundance?

Our ancient ancestors knew that our bodies dance in rhythm to the larger patterns of nature. We are not separate. We are part of a larger story. The rhythms of the earth have invitations for us to deepen into the wisdom of our own bodies and souls.

Gathering together in ceremony is an ancient practice that enables us to participate in the season through community, ritual, and intention.

As we join together, we remember our own wild belonging.

What to expect:

  • We’ll be outside, fireside in a backyard with lots of stairs (it is not a wheelchair accessible venue).

  • Mosquitos are a new reality in LA so please plan to cover up. I’ll have mosquito repellant to help us all out.

  • Sacred, compassionate community; space to listen and share from the heart.

  • Song, story, and simple ritual.

  • A deep dive into the season and the chance to feed your hunger for ceremony and connection.

Who’s this for?

This space is open to women+ and gender expansive folks longing to connect to body, to earth, to ritual, to the larger community of creation, and to the divine within and between.

Cost:

For those who are able, the cost is a sliding scale of $25-45. However, you can pay any price that makes sense for you or, if unable to pay, simply come and enjoy.

If it’s your first event, please come for free!

Your presence is your gift. Truly.
