Dream Tending

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

― Eleanor Roosevelt

How does the darkness call you, dear heart? What dreams visit you in the night?

As the wheel of the year deepens us into darkness, owls hoot in the dark hours of morning, and I awaken from nighttime visits from the dream maker. I love to linger in that inky space of sleep and waking.

This liminal season invites us to rest, reflect, and listen deeply to what stirs below the surface of things.

Recently, I learned that Samhain, or what we now call Halloween, is the Celtic New Year. But rather than being one singular date on the calendar, this ending/beginning is a six week season of unraveling and weaving that carries us from now until the Winter Solstice.

It is a tomb/womb space where the old year is dying and the new year is being birthed. It is the liminal space betwixt and between. The both/and. A time to honor the past and nourish the dream-seeds of a future gestating in the dark.

I love the spacious permission this view gives us to simply be in the messy space between that which is ending and that which is yet to be.

These last few weeks of the year invite us into the space of dreams. To make room to listen to our deepest desires, our heart's true longings, and the visions that want to come through us as a new year approaches.

I am excited to offer a Dream Tending Reflective Writing Journey—4-weeks of prompts and invitations mailed to your home to carry you through the year’s inky ending/beginning. Tapping into the liminality of this season and the wisdom of the four elements, this journey will invite you into a state of deep listening through reflective journal writing and embodied practice, all at your own pace.

You can learn more here. I would love to join you as we journey through the darkness towards the light birthed anew at the Winter Solstice.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
